Health & Safety Coordinator at Brasserie de la Couronne S.A

Description du poste:

Under the Supervision of the Health & Safety Manager
•Communicate with other managers and staff throughout the organization to ensure that the facility is in compliance to all applicable regulatory and requirements related to Health and Safety.
•Get in-depth knowledge about the local laws regarding OSH, as well as the KORE requirements, and ensure that all managers know them in what applies to the departments they are in charge of.
•Coordinate the OSH program.
•Provide support and advice to managers and supervisors to ensure the successful implementation, efficacy and sustainability of the OSH program.
•Oversee the correct on site application of norms and procedures the OSH program, providing timely feedback to the managers.
•Collaborate with heads of department in the communication and training activities of the personnel
•Conduct weekly/ monthly inspections and report on findings to head Department Manager
•Inspect workplaces and workplace equipment, such as scaffolding, to ensure they meet safety regulations and to identify hazards and risks
•Ensure personal protective equipment (such as hearing protection, dust masks, safety glasses, and footwear and safety helmets), is being used in workplaces according to regulations
•Ensure dangerous materials are correctly stored
•Identify and test work areas for potential accident and health hazards, such as toxic fumes and explosive gas-air mixtures, and implement appropriate control measures
•Conduct training sessions for management, supervisors and workers on health and safety practices and legislation.
•Coordinate emergency procedures, confine space rescues, firefighting and first aid
•Communicate with management to report on the status of occupational health and safety programs
•Develop occupational health and safety systems, including policies, procedures and manuals

Qualifications requises:

•At least a Bachelor's/College Degree or Professional License in Engineering (industrial) or any related fields.
•Ability to use MS Office (Excel, Power Point and Word). MS Visio will be a plus.
•Familiar with manufacturing operations would be a plus.
•Ability to train, coach and engage
•Committed to safety and teamwork.
•Fluent in Creole, French and English. Spanish will be a plus.
•Ability to write detailed reports.
•Ability to learn, demonstrate and apply best practices.
•Self-directing and Able to work towards specific goals and objectives with limited daily oversight.
•Familiar with ISO standards: ISO 9001: 2005, 14000: 2005 & 22002-1-2009, and OSHA 18000: 2008.
