Key Responsibilities:
1.Provide spiritual leadership.
•Ensure that the office has a high quality Christian ethos and operations plan that is appropriate for country context.
•Model a high standard of personal Christian leadership, ministry and integrity though lifestyle and work relationships, and provide spiritual guidance to staff on LWI’s mission and core values.
•Participate and lead regular devotional meetings.
2.Implement mandatory policy and procedures including financial accounting systems, use of PUMPS, asset management, inventory, and maintenance procedures. Key elements of this include:
•Implementing and reporting water projects as directed through PUMPS;
•Collaboration with local Christian Churches for locating and determining project sites;
•Management of National Staff for the purpose of all task;
•Training of office staff in PUMPS and QuickBooks where necessary;
•Recommendations for improvement;
•Equipment assessment and maintenance ;
•Maintenance logs.
3.Provide leadership in field operation and administrative functions to achieve the goals of:
•Increased efficiency in field operations;
•Equipment and inventory tracking;
•Financial accountability and reporting;
•Maintaining all NGO requirements in reporting, registrations and accreditations by Government;
•Network within the NGO community;
•Maintain relations with the local US Embassy and USAID offices.
4.Advise the Regional Vice President on strategic local business and Government development and key organizational planning issues and make recommendations on project decisions.
5.Inspect projects funded by LWI in the region.
6.Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications requises:
Knowledge and Experience:
•Bachelor's degree in management, international development, or equivalent (advanced degree is preferred);
•A heart and a passion for the region and its peoples;
•Demonstrated ability to deal decisively with complex situations;
•Strategic thinker with clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between operations and business strategy;
•Demonstrated ability to implement a country strategy in compliance with organizational strategy and agreed upon standards;
•Substantial business acumen in general management, financial management and operations with work experience in the WASH sector;
•Ability to work in difficult contexts;
•Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills;
•Fluency in English and French or Creole required.
