Communications Officer – HT Earthquake Response 2021 (1 position for the Nippes) at World Vision International-Haiti

Description du poste:

The emergency communications officer performs specialized work using electronic communication and telecommunications equipment, which requires mental agility and judgment in emergency situations. This position is the vital link between the audience asking for help and World Vision's interventions on the ground. the aim will be to produce a wide range of written and photographic communication resources/materials related to World Vision's areas of intervention in the response to the 2021 earthquake in the Southern and Nippes: impact stories, transformation stories, advocacy stories, reports and photos, networking with local media and engagement programmes (PZ and others) with staff being the main source of information for communications and media activities as needed. This will involve profiling and positioning World Vision Haiti's humanitarian and emergency response work, both locally and internationally. In addition, the Emergency Communications Officer will be required to support WVH's communications objectives, primarily through the production of regular, high-quality communications and marketing resources.

Qualifications requises:

Emergency Communications:

Support the treatment and management of all crisis communications of media with in the framework of NO, RO and WVI guidelines.

Implement ad documented communication route and it's activities/results.

Responds to fluid situations by adapting communication strategy and plans to achieve the desired outcome of the response and the context and demands of stakeholders.

Provide communication support to promote positioning and visibility.

Provide leaders with communication support through the creation and delivery of content, ensuring that information is shared between staff and key internal audiences/partners, using appropriate platforms and processes.

Public Engagement and Donor Communication:

Work, partner and coordinate with leaders and communication actors to identify the main key audiences(resource acquisition, advocacy, partnership, community influence, advocacy, partnership, influence, community) and develop a plan that aligns with the communication strategy defined by the national office in a targeted manner and for the achievement of objectives and activities.

Document the activities, outcomes and needs of each activity through the production of high-quality child-centred stories and photos that will convey the message of 'transformation' and motivate and retain donor support.

Collaborate with the Communications Manager and program staff in researching and preparing communications and marketing resources that communicate and position the Ministry of World Vision Haiti to key audiences, including the public,national and international effectively, churches, NGOs, the WV Partnership, the World Vision Haiti Council, and key support offices

Collect advocacy stories, write them and publish them

Relations with the media:

Develop and maintain close contacts with local press, radio and television journalists, collaborating with them on news and stories, project visits and interviews.

Support youth networks in the preparation and presentation of content in media

Develop and maintain key contacts with media and facilitate visits from other World Vision/external partners.

Promote and protect the image of WV Haiti and establish relations with the various media.

Facilitate visits by local and international media to promote and profile WVH's response as required.

Liaise with the various print and electronic media to promote the response of WVI Haiti.

Internal communications:

Support the Communications Manager in the implementation of the internal communication strategy that positions World Vision as a leading development, relief and advocacy agency.

Support programs and internal staff to meet their communication needs through the organization of events, the development o marketing/promotional materials and to participate and report on activities and projects.

Contribute to the production of Sit Reps for the benefit of the partnership by submitting updated information.

Work with the Director of Response and other emergency functions to provide regular updates to the partnership.

With the support and guidance of the national office, implement the required communications policies and strategy and ensure staff understanding and monitor compliance.
