Logistics Assistant–HT Earthquake Response 2021 (1 position in the Nippes) at World Vision International-Haiti
Description du poste:
The objective of this position is to ensure that logistics activities that include transportation, movement of goods through the supply chain to distribution centers through warehouse (shipment management), fleet management and customs clearance are effective and efficient to positively support the emergency response to the earthquake.
Main Activities
Major activities
Conduct a logistics services capacity assessment for logistics services required for earthquake emergency response in order to have enough logistics service providers with high quality services
Managing shipments for imports by collaborating and engaging with suppliers from other countries, Global WVI has prepositioned inventory warehouses to ensure that all imports are tracked, planned, shipped on time.
Work with customs brokers, shippers and carriers to ensure imports are cleared in time to avoid delays and to ensure goods arrive at their destination on time and in good conditions.
Organize the transportation of relief goods from the warehouse to distribution centers or other warehouses urgently and at the best value for money. (Timely transport and delivery of relief items).
Contract management for outsourced logistics service providers that include carriers, customs brokers to ensure that the emergency response to the earthquake in Haiti benefits from high quality logistics services.
Manage the fleet of vehicles and motorcycles for the answer, provide and organize the transport required by the staff.
Liaise and collaborate with the National Fleet Office for vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs, insurance processes and vehicle fuel supply.
Prepare and submit logistics reports, fuel reports and all weekly and monthly fleet management reports Highlighting areas where urgent support and improvements are needed
Manage the pipeline of relief items from the source of imports to distribution centers to the business and identify any gaps in distribution plans and collaborate and engage with the procurement department to address the shortage.
Supervise drivers for the emergency response in the event of an earthquake, assign them work and provide or facilitate any training or capacity building required.
Qualifications requises:
Experiencein emergency response logistics
Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration;
Computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets;
At least 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management;
Analytical skills;
Knowledge of customs clearance processes
